The Holdsworth Club is the only law society in the entire country with its own drama group (take that Oxbridge!). Holdsworth Drama has now been running for several years and has put on a number of impressive productions from Shaw’s Pygmalion to Dickens’ Great Expectations.
Last year, Holdsworth Drama put on a production of Pride and Prejudice at the Crescent Theatre.
Holdsworth Drama caters for those with and without previous theatrical experience. Unlike other university drama societies we understand when your deadlines are and how taxing a law degree can be! Therefore, we tend to keep our rehearsals to Wednesday afternoons so as not to take too much time from academic study.
Most importantly, we’re quite a friendly bunch and always plan loads of socials throughout the year! Plus it’s a great way to meet other people on your course!
The performance takes place in March with auditions being held a the beginning of semester one, in October, so make sure you keep an eye on your emails if you want to take part!
