*DLA Piper Pub Quiz*
DLA’s campus rep has asked me to make you aware of their pub quiz which will be held this Thursday (3rd November) at the Sugar Loaf @ Bodega on New Street. The event starts at 6:30 and includes a short presentation by the firm as well as the chance to meet trainees, partners and the like. If your’re interested in having a few drinks and a quiz as well as meeting what genuinely is a fantastic firm then email olibello@gmail.com with your full name, degree and year of study.
*Event Attendance*
On a more serious note, quite a few people didn’t show up to the Cobbetts Event last Tuesday meaning the lecture theatre was left noticeably empty. Therefore, if you do sign up to an event then please do make sure you attend or if you really can’t then send me a message saying so. When you do not show up to an event not only are you missing out on valuable careers information but you are also harming the club and the University. If events aren’t attended then the firm will stop coming and it is as simple as that. T
*Oxford University Press Student Law Panel*
Back to positives! The Oxford University Press Student Law Panel is now recruiting, and would like to find representatives from this university.
Being a panellist is a great way to get involved in the world of legal publishing, and perhaps even to influence future law textbooks. They’ll ask you to carry out tasks – questionnaires, book reviews, that sort of thing – in return for fantastic rewards. If you’re interested then go tohttp://www.oxfordtextbooks.co.uk/he/lawrep/
*Freshers and Postgraduate Meal*
Tickets are still available for the two events which are being held on Wednesday. If you fancy the chance to get drunk on more sophisticated booze and in prettier surroundings then get yourself up to the Holdsworth Office between 1pm and 2:30pm everyday to get your tickets. The meal is always a great do and the Jewellery Quarter is a good night out so get yours sorted.
That’s all for this week. Next week there will hopefully be more Holdsworth events.
